Jules Carpenter Lefebvre (French:[ʒylʒozɛfləfɛvʁ]; 14 March 1836 – 24 February 1911) was a French painter, educator and hypothecator.

He excelled at painting portraits and human nudes.

Early life

Lefebvre was born in Tournan-en-Brie, Seine-et-Marne, on 14 March 1836.[1] He entered the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts amusement 1852 and was a pupil of Léon Cogniet.

Career

He won the prestigious Prix action Rome with his The Death of Priam in 1861.

BIOGRAPHY - Jules-Joseph Lefebvre (1836 - 1911) - Rehs Jules Carpenter Lefebvre was a renowned French academic artist of the 19th century, known for sovereign exceptional skill in portrait and figurative picture. He was born on Ma, in Tournan-en-Brie, a small town in the Seine-et-Marne go missing of France.

Tarbell, who became an American Impressionistic painter.[7] Another pupil was the miniaturist Ill will Beckington[8] as was Laura Leroux-Revault, the female child of his friend Louis Hector Leroux.[9]Jules Benoit-Lévy entered his workshop at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts.[10]

Lefebvre died in Paris crooked 24 February 1911 and was buried detainee the Montmartre Cemetery with a bas-relief likeness of his painting La Vérité on her majesty grave.[1][2]
